Electronic Manufacturing Services UK
UK electronic manufacturing services backed by 35+ years of experience, a 5 year warranty on every PCBA and no NRE charges. We source, build, test and deliver: you only pay for working product, only when you need it.
Contract Electronic Manufacturing Services
DSL is a UK based contract electronics manufacturer providing end-to-end electronic manufacturing services from our facility in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. We handle PCB assembly, box build, redesign and flexible delivery schedules for businesses across the UK.
Our on-site design engineers work with your data from day one. They do not just follow manufacturing instructions. They design complex PCBs daily, which means they spot issues before they reach production and improve manufacturability as a matter of course. The result: fewer delays, better yields and a product that works first time.
We are not a broker or a middleman. Every board is assembled, inspected and tested under our roof using our fully automated SMT line and 3D AOI inspection. That is how we can offer a 5 year warranty on every PCBA we produce.
Our Electronic Manufacturing Services
From prototype to production, our electronic manufacturing services cover every stage of the build process. Our fully automated SMT line uses the latest placement and inspection technology to deliver consistent, high quality UK based PCB assembly at competitive unit costs.
Surface mount and through-hole PCB assembly services for prototype, low volume and production runs. Fully automated SMT placement with 3D AOI inspection on every board.
Box Build
Complete product assembly from populated PCBAs through to finished, tested units in their enclosures. Wiring, integration and final functional testing included.
Our design engineers review your existing PCB data and recommend improvements for manufacturability, cost reduction and long-term component availability.
Flexible Delivery
Order in bulk for the best unit cost, then call off batches of any size when you need them. You only pay on receipt. No warehousing costs, no tied-up cash.
How Our Electronic Manufacturing Process Works
Every product that leaves our Hertfordshire facility goes through a six-stage manufacturing process designed for quality and reliability. This is why we can back every PCBA with a 5 year warranty.

1. Component Sourcing
We source components from trusted, traceable suppliers. Our procurement team checks availability and pricing before production begins, so there are no surprises mid-build.

2. Machine Assembly
Solder paste application, automated SMT component placement and reflow soldering on our fully automated production line. Consistent placement accuracy across every board.

3. Human Assembly
Through-hole components, manual soldering and visual inspection by IPC trained operators. Precision work where automation cannot reach.

4. 3D AOI Inspection
Every board passes through our 3D Automated Optical Inspection system, which checks solder joints, component placement and polarity against your design data.

5. Functional Testing
Boards are tested against your specifications to confirm they work as designed. We test to your requirements, not to generic standards.

6. Box Build and Despatch
Populated PCBAs are integrated into enclosures, wired, labelled and given a final inspection before despatch. You receive a finished, tested product.

Why Choose DSL for Electronic Manufacturing Services
With over 35 years of experience in electronic design and manufacturing, DSL understands what separates a reliable contract electronics manufacturer from an average one. Our clients stay with us because we deliver on time, communicate clearly and stand behind our work.
35+ Years of Experience
We have been manufacturing electronics for over 35 years. Technology changes constantly, but the fundamentals of robust electronic manufacturing do not: reliable sourcing, precise assembly, thorough inspection and honest communication.

5 Year Warranty
Every PCBA we manufacture is covered by a 5 year warranty. Not 12 months. Five years. This is only possible because of our investment in equipment, our process controls and the skill of our team. It is our confidence in the work, put in writing.

Free NRE
NRE (non-recurring engineering) charges are the one-off setup costs that most contract manufacturers charge when they take on a new product: programming machinery, creating stencils, setting up inspection profiles. We absorb these costs. No setup fees, no switching penalties. We see NRE as our investment in building your product.
Made in Britain
All manufacturing takes place at our facility in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire. UK based production means local support, direct access to our engineering team, full traceability and the quality control that comes from having everything under one roof.
A 5 Year Warranty on Every PCBA
Most contract electronics manufacturers offer a 12 month warranty. We offer five years on every PCBA we produce, regardless of volume or complexity.
This is not a marketing gimmick. It is a direct reflection of how we manufacture. Our process, from component sourcing through to 3D AOI inspection and functional testing, is built to catch problems before they leave our facility. The 5 year warranty exists because we trust our own process.
For our clients, it means peace of mind. Long after you have integrated our boards into your products and shipped them to your customers, our guarantee still applies.
Extended Guarantee
Robust Assurance
Long-Term Reliability
No NRE Charges on Any Project
NRE covers the one-off costs of setting up production for a new product: programming pick-and-place machines, creating solder stencils, configuring AOI inspection profiles and building test fixtures. Most contract manufacturers pass these costs on to you. We do not.
This makes it simpler and cheaper to move your electronic manufacturing to DSL, or to use us as a second source alongside an existing supplier. No setup fees. No switching penalties. Just the unit cost of your product.
On-Site Electronic Design engineers
This is where DSL differs from most contract electronics manufacturers. Our design engineers are not just interpreting your manufacturing data. They design complex PCBs every day. That depth of experience means they can identify and resolve issues in your design before production begins, saving time and reducing risk.
If a component is going end of life, they will flag it and suggest an alternative. If your board layout could be improved for manufacturability, they will tell you. If there is a way to reduce your unit cost without compromising reliability, they will find it.
This level of engineering support is included as standard. It is not an add-on or a premium service.
Flexible Delivery and Stock Holding
Traditional contract manufacturers require you to take your entire production run in one delivery and pay for it upfront. DSL works differently.
You place your order for the full production quantity to secure the best unit cost. Then you call off batches of any size, whenever you need them. You only pay on receipt.
This frees up your cash flow, reduces the amount of stock you need to hold and gives you the flexibility to respond to changes in demand without committing to large upfront payments.
